About the 7th Training Wing

Encampment is arguably one of the most important milestones for any CAP cadet. By nature of the activity, its regimented lifestyle, and military-like training model, encampment can certainly be one of the most challenging, but worthwhile experiences that cadet students and cadre may go through in their young lives. 7th Training Wing's motto "Semper Sustinebit" means "Always Endure" and should serve to motivate and encourage cadets to not give up but endure.

As a member of the 7th Training Wing, you are part of a special group of rising leaders that will help secure the future of Tri-Wing Encampment, Civil Air Patrol, and our Nation! That said, Tri-Wing Encampment is excited to present to you the official logo of the 7th Training Wing! This will serve as visual reminder of the lessons learned, obstacles overcome, and relationships developed for years to come.

"Raptors" were chosen to represent the training wing as an acknowledgment of Civil Air Patrol's Air Force heritage and a nod to the mighty F-22 Raptor.  The F-22, produced by Lockheed Martin, flew its maiden flight on September 7, 1997. After further development and testing, it was deemed operational and became the Air Force's first 5th-generation fighter in its inventory and signaled a new age in the world's air superiority landscape. Even after the better part of three decades, the F-22 Raptor has continued to endure and remains one of the most formidable fighter jets in the world. Moreover, "Raptors" also serves as a nod to the velociraptors of the past. Though much is still to be learned, velociraptors are known for relying on their speed, agility, adaptability and intelligence to thrive in a world of literal giants.

Much like the F-22's continued dominance in the skies, the 7th Training Wing is committed to furthering Tri-Wing Encampment's long and storied legacy of excellence. As Tri-Wing's Raptors, cadet students and cadre, will display ingenuity, creativity, and resilience in tackling the various obstacles and challenges that encampment will bring. Similarly, Tri-Wing's Raptors will demonstrate their speed, agility, adaptability, and intelligence in everything they do. Regardless of the size or scope of the obstacle, they will face it head-on with grit and determination.

In those moments where cadets think they may fail or that the challenges are too great, the 7th Training Wing's motto will sound loudly in their minds:

SEMPER SUSTINEBIT ... ALWAYS ENDURE!
